The cottage is near the Conservatory, which probably shouldn't be much surprise to anyone.
It's also... a work in progress. Right now the winter storms mean he hasn't started any gardens or even dealing with existing overgrown weeds, and the windows are temporarily boarded over.
But it's a nice sturdy design and a lot of space for one person, and he wanted somewhere to hole up before the winter did get bad. ]
[ Somehow that does not, in fact, make him worry less.
He tries not to show said worry when he opens the door, but he definitely notices how she looks instead of actually thinking about the gifts just yet. On the other hand, he knows he wouldn't want comments if it was him. ]
Hey, c'mon in. Bet bein' out in the cold can't be helpin' much.
[ He'll step back from the doorway. The place is nice, albeit pretty sparse for the moment. Either way, there's a fire going and a kettle on the stove. ]
Not a lot? I know she stopped singin' at the Lounge pretty sudden? Can't say I was payin' her that much mind.
[ He isn't sure if he quite entirely saw the appeal of a lot of her music at the time if he's honest. But now he's certainly curious what actually happened there. ]
Turns out she was stealing people's voices and was selling them in music boxes. Azul and I hunted her down... but then it turns out her hair has super-powers and I got caught up. Azul then...
... Like I said, I don't want to expose anything about himself he doesn't want to say himself. But... he showed a side of himself, powers of himself... that I never knew about. I got... scared of him.
[ Actually, he supposes that's not really the important thing right now. He'll just... take that at face value. Sure. Stealing voices. He's run into weirder things. ]
Did he uh, did he hurt you or anythin' or just her?
[ Because he's kind of assuming someone got hurt, at least. It's hard not to press for more details in general. As far as he knows it was no huge secret that Azul had magic, so it can't just be that, right? ]
He did hurt her, and... he... came real close to hurting me.
[ Closer than she'd ever like to me. To give a more accurate detail, she pulls back from the hug, and creates a 'space' with her hands from her chest - trying to indicate how close she was from being skewered. ]
[ He's quiet for a moment, a few things flickering across his expression. Right off he's angry, because he likes Della. But that's the thing—he does understand anger, and hurting people, and not realising how terrible you are or what you've actually done until it's too late—
Not that he'd like Della to know any of that about him.
... He did. But that was WAY too close for comfort.
... Even so, I hate the fact... that he knows I was afraid of him in that moment. And that I didn't chase after him right away when he excused himself...
[ Could anyone really blame her? Too bad, she's blaming herself. ]

She also brought gifts! A basket with sweets! Don't worry, she did NOT bake them. And some fancy new mugs as a housewarming gift. ]
Before you open the door! Just a heads-up that I look worse than I am!
[ She'll look like she hasn't slept in days and her eyes are red from sobbing and she's just overall worn out.
She is exactly as bad as she looks. ]

[ She lets herself inside, puts the basket of goodies on the nearest table. She then sighs, rolls her shoulders, turns toward him, and opens her arms.
Hugs please. ]
I'M A SUCKY FRIEEEEEEEEND.

I have my doubts about that. Always seems like you try pretty hard to me.

I made Azul think I was afraid and grossed out of him! I'm the worst! I didn't even chase after him when he left at first...

... Afraid of him? I—I know you said you're not going to share his secrets but I'll admit a little context might help here.

... Do you know anything about the Deep Sea Girl that was singing at the Lounge?
